Whooper Swan December 4th Four Whooper Swans flew low heading towards Halifax
Teal December 6th 75 Teal were seen at Sandbeds
Ruff December 8th Three Ruff were noted at Cononley Ings

Brambling December 13th 40 seen with Chaffinches in the area of the Strid
Black-headed Gull December 17th Silsden Floods had attracted over 3000
Lapwing December 17th The flooded area at Silsden was occupied by 400
Lapwing December 18th Bowling Back Lane in Bradford is often home to congregating Lapwings and there were 300
Pintail December 18th Two Pintails at Farnhill Ing
Firecrest December 19th At Dowley Gap - a bird over-wintered

Mediterranean Gull December 19th A 1st winter Mediterranean Gull was at Bradley Ings
Pink-footed Goose December 21st 175 Pink-footed Geese went north-westwards over Shipley Glen
Black-headed Gull December 23rd The roost at Embsay Reservoir totaled 3400
Bullfinch December 24th Stockbridge was the place to see Bullfinches with six there

Siskin December 26th Feeding in Hirst Wood - 70 Siskin
Lapwing December 27th 300 were counted at John o’ Gaunts
Shorelark December 27th A bird present at Catherine Slack, near Queensbury from the 27th.
Lesser Spotted Woodpecker December 31st A female Lesser-spotted Woodpecker was seen by the small private lake at Farnley
Mediterranean Gull December 31st An adult at Cullingworth Fields
Curlew December   At Denton Park, 165 Curlew were feeding at the beginning of December
Mandarin December   A male bird which was found at Hirst Wood, Saltaire.
Short-eared Owl December   Seen over Sconce Lane, Baildon, Nosker Brow (2nd) and over the Halifax road beyond Oxenhope (5th).
Stonechat December   Reported from Whetstone Gate, Bradup, Kex Gill and Baildon Moor and surprisingly Sandbeds (19th)
Water Rail December   Stockbridge was the place to see Water Rails with three birds present throughout the month
Woodcock December   Reported from Harden Moor and Milnerfields, Gilstead
