| Winter 2004 Greater Scaup spent until 18th April |
| Winter 2004 Two Water Rail and at the year end. |
| 15th February 2004 A pair of Shelduck with possibly the same birds being seen throughout April and into May. |
| 21st February 2004 A Redshank arrived on breeding territory and had to wait until 7th March before it had company. |

| 18th April 2004 A male Yellow Wagtail once a main site for these birds, it yielded only one bird all year, and this tends to confirm the gloomy picture painted by the fortunes of this species locally. |

| 21st April 2004 The year's first two Sedge Warblers. This site then held various singing birds and a few breeding pairs, with 10 birds ringed between May and July. |

| Summer 2004 A singing Reed Warbler was seen in May and June in the purposely-created phragmites reedbed. Ringing studies at the same site in July yielded four adults and a juvenile. |
