Redcar Tarn is a small sheet of water high above Keighley with a good paved walk of about 1 mile round it. It can hold a surprisingly large number of ducks.

 

Notable Sightings - 2003
6th January 2003 A first winter Mediterranean Gull.
2nd March to 12th April 2003 A very confiding first winter Mediterranean Gull was often feeding on bread provided for the ducks.
11th May 2003 Little Ringed Plover (passage)
September 2003 200 Lapwings

29th December 2004 320 Pink-footed Geese flew over
December 2004 500 Lapwing
Notable Sightings - 2005
Tufted Duck - seven downy young seen on 14th June seemed to have dwindled to two by the 26th.
July 2005 45 Coot present.
29th July 2005 60 House Sparrows.
6th November 2005 One Shoveler
